Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Zone 1, Monika Bhardwaj, said that around 100 checkpoints will be set up across Delhi to curb drunken driving.

In terms of deployment, around 1,200 traffic police personnel will be on duty specifically for New Year’s Eve management, while the overall police deployment across the city will be approximately 2,500 personnel to maintain law and order and ensure a safe celebration.

Public advisory for commuters

The Delhi Traffic Police have urged commuters to avoid restricted roads, plan their journeys well in advance, and allow extra time if travelling to ISBTs, railway stations, or airports.
